Train travel and snowmobiling is the ultimate way to experience Northern Ontario.  We have numerous packages available to meet vacation expectations.  From a two day package, which will take you to Hawk Junction by train one day and back to Sault Ste. Marie by snowmobile on the second day, to an extended seven day adventure tour of the north, we can put it together for you. 

 

As an example, our five-day Guided Winter Wilderness Track 'N' Trails vacations are fairly challenging, averaging 200 miles per day.  This vacation package commences in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario when you check into your assigned hotel where our staff will greet you and escort everyone to dinner where you will get acquainted and discuss the upcoming tour in comfort.  The next morning, after a delicious breakfast, you will load your sleds and board the train for the trip to Hawk Junction.  After unloading your snowmobile, you will then proceed to Wawa for the second evening.   After an evening of relaxation, the tour follows a loop through Manitouwadge, Hornepayne and Hearst before arriving back in Wawa on the fourth night.  On your final day you will travel another 200 miles to Sault Ste. Marie, passing through Halfway Haven and Searchmont.

 

 
 

Five-Day Tracks to Trails Tour

Commencing in Sault Ste. Marie, this challenging vacation package will travel through the heart of northern Ontario’s wilderness trails.

Your first evening is in Sault Ste. Marie where we meet with you for an orientation on riding in Algoma.  Leaving Sault Ste. Marie in the morning, you take the Algoma Central Railway to Hawk Junction and then proceed to White River for your second evening.. For your second day, the route extends further west for awhile before turning north to Hillsport, known for its great food and wilderness hospitality.  Heading east through Hornepayne and Dubreuilville you will arrive in Wawa for your 4th night.  From Wawa you proceed to Chapleau for your 5th evening before heading back south to Sault Ste. Marie.

 This package may be provided as a guided or self guided vacation.

Self-guided, this package includes:

  •  Five nights accommodation – double occupancy

  • OFSC  Seven-day Trail Permit

  • One dinner, and two breakfasts

  • Train passenger ticket and freight fare for your snowmobile from Hawk Junction to Sault Ste. Marie

  • Itinerary, Maps and trail advisories

 

OPTIONAL

Guided, this package includes:  (based on minimum of 6 riders)

  • Five nights accommodation

  • OFSC Seven-Day Permit

  • Four dinners – Four breakfasts – One lunch

  • Train passenger ticket and freight fare for your snowmobile from Hawk Junction to Sault Ste. Marie

  • Four days of Guide services

 

 

Six-Day Tracks to Trails Tour

Commencing in Sault Ste. Marie, this wilderness vacation package will travel through the Canadian Shield from the shores of Lake Superior to the James Bay Lowlands and back.

Leaving Sault Ste. Marie, you will travel north via the train to Wawa via Hawk Junction for the first evening, before heading north on to Manitouwadge.  The route extends further north to Hearst.  Heading east to Timmons, then west will bring your group to Chapleau for your last evening before  the journey south to Sault Ste. Marie.

 This package may be provided as a guided or self guided vacation.

Self-guided, this package includes:

  • Six nights accommodation – double occupancy

  • OFSC  Seven-day Trail Permit

  • One breakfast, and two dinners

  • Train passenger ticket and freight fare for your snowmobile from Hawk Junction to Sault Ste. Marie
